ELSAN Hammadde Sanayii A.Ş.
Our sustainable production principles are designed to help ensure that future generations inherit a clean and healthy environment.
Our Approach
Our company is committed to environmental protection in accordance with ISO 14001. We manage our environmental impacts throughout the product life cycle using a cradle-to-grave approach and set targets to reduce resource consumption.
Approximately 80% of our products are manufactured using recycled raw materials. We expect the same level of environmental responsibility from our suppliers and business partners.
To Our Supplıers & Contractors
The following environmental responsibility requirements apply to suppliers and contractors involved at the beginning of our products’ life cycle:
The procurement and use of environmentally responsible, innovative materials and components that require fewer resources.
Minimising adverse conditions that could threaten human health or environmental quality across all operational processes.
Reducing environmental impacts across all operational and support processes, including logistics, from raw material procurement through product delivery and use.
Monitoring the environmental impacts of your activities, products, and services and ensuring full compliance with applicable legislation.
Providing environmental compliance information, documents, declarations, or reports, including RoHS and REACH documentation, for delivered materials.
Ensuring that materials and inputs used do not contain substances harmful to human health or the environment that are prohibited by national or international legislation, and maintaining the necessary records.
To Our Customers
Approximately 80% of our products are manufactured using recycled raw materials. As our customers may also act as our suppliers, we would like to highlight the following matters:
Corporate Carbon Footprint and Water Footprint reporting and verification are carried out regularly each year.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Product Carbon Footprint calculations are regularly performed for our products.
Our products comply with applicable EN standards and the 4MS Hygienic Materials List and do not contain substances restricted under the RoHS and REACH Directives.
Brass turnings contaminated with oil during machining are classified as hazardous waste when they contain more than 1% oil. Transport in licenced vehicles and recovery at licenced facilities are mandatory.
Brass flash generated during forging is classified as non-hazardous waste provided that it is free from hazardous substance contamination. Recovery at licenced facilities is required.
Our facility holds recovery licences for both hazardous waste (oily brass turnings) and non-hazardous waste (brass/copper turnings, flash, and scrap). These licences are available on our Environmental Permit & License page.
Industrial wastes such as brass ash and flue gas dust generated by our casting operations, together with hazardous and non-hazardous wastes arising from routine operations, are periodically sent for recovery or disposal under contracts with licenced companies.
