Environmental Permission and Licence

ELSAN, has made it a principle to protect the environment during its activities. Hazardous emissions are prevented via the filtration facility first established in 1992 in the Continuous Casting department and expanded in 2000. Besides, the hazardous wastes generated on this stage are recovered for use as raw material source for another industry and the generated waste heat is recycled to save on energy costs. ELSAN holds Emission Permit and 1st Grade Non-Sanitary Enterprise Licence since 2000.

ELSAN received a "Hazardous Waste Recycling License" from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry for the first time in 2008 for the recovery of oil-contaminated brass/copper chips. Since 2012, it has Environmental Permit and License Certificate regarding Emissions, Hazardous Waste Recycling and Non-Hazardous Waste Recycling.

In scope of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System implemented since 2008 ELSAN, determines the environmental aspects and effects arising in scope of its activities. It is point of an exemplary in its sector especially in regard of "Waste Management", ELSAN stores all wastes classified according to type in Regular Waste Storage Areas and transfers them to licensed disposal/recycling facilities as necessary.
